Inspection scheduled for Avenue
8:40am Saturday 11th February 2012

ALAN Knight is keeping his fingers crossed that this afternoon’s home clash against Chelmsford City (3pm) gets the go ahead.
The Dorchester Town boss has admitted the game is in the lap of the gods with a pitch inspection at the Avenue Stadium expected to take place around 9.30am.
If the Blue Square Bet South encounter falls to the cold weather it will stretch the Mag-pies’ lay-off from competitive action to a month with no match scheduled again for next weekend.
Speaking yesterday, Knight said: “The pitch has not been too bad over the last couple of days but the overnight forecast is not good again so it is very much 50-50.
“We are desperate to get the game on otherwise it will mean nearly a month without a match, which would be a bit of a nightmare.
“Chelmsford will obviously need to know as soon as possible as they will be travelling down so I expect there will be a pitch inspection around 9.30-10am.”
Club secretary David Martin added: “We are fairly positive. The forecast is minus two from midnight to 8am and then bright and sunny after that with the temperature rising to five degrees.
“As long as it does not get any colder than that it should go ahead but there will definitely be a pitch inspection.”
